Health officials orders and agreements

Public and private activities are an important part of our cultural life. Museums, galleries, performing arts venues and venues for private events inspire and connect with our communities and promote social health. This page outlines the requirements and best practices of these entities to enhance the safety of their employees, customers, and communities and reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 within their organizations.

Given the continued community transmission of COVID-19 and the predominant existence of Delta variants, regardless of the vaccination status, sheltering indoors is essential to slow down the spread of COVID-19 in events, businesses, and communities. The Delta variant of the virus spreads more easily than the virus strain.

According to published reports, factors that increase the risk of infection (including transmission to people 6 feet away) include: Enclosed spaces with insufficient ventilation or air handling can cause the exhaled respiratory fluid to accumulate, especially very small droplets and aerosol particles. up in the air. When an infected person engages in physical activity or raises their voice (for example, exercise, yelling, singing), increased respiratory fluid exhalation may occur. Prolonged exposure to these conditions.

In addition to this information, please remember: companies and venues that host large-scale events (indoor events with more than 1,000 people or outdoor events with more than 10,000 people) should follow best practices for preventing COVID-19 in large-scale events. According to the Los Angeles City Vaccination Verification Regulations, starting from November 8, 2021, indoor activities with less than 1,000 people and outdoor activities with less than 5,000-9,999 people must check the vaccination certificate. Please visit the SafePass LA website and FAQ page for more information about the regulations and a complete list of covered locations. The requirements for employees are different from those for attendees. Employers must comply with Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards (ETS) and county health officials orders. Please note that when the instructions in the Los Angeles County Health Officer Order are stricter than Cal/OSHA ETS, these instructions must be followed. Be sure to read and follow the general guidelines for businesses and employers. The specific best practices below are intended to supplement the general guidelines.

The risk varies depending on the scale of the event and whether it occurs indoors or outdoors. Compared with large-scale indoor events, outdoor events and events with a small number of participants have less risk of spreading. The following table describes the different rules applied based on the characteristics of these two events.

Indoor events with less than 1,000 participants and outdoor events with 5,000-9,999 participants in the City of Los Angeles must comply with the Los Angeles City Vaccination Verification Regulations described on this page and on the SafePass LA website and FAQ page.
